About Game:

Collect “kobans” and take risks to scale up your company! You are a business man who desperately needs the seed money to grow your business. Suddenly, a spirit of money (capitalism?) called “Moneykee” appears in front of you saying “Let’s play a little game…”

Control:

  • Hit ENTER/SPACE when you come across with the items. That's pretty much it!
  • Missing an item immediately ends the game so be careful!
  • HINT: The red "!" that flashes above the character's head indicates a slim window of the proper hit. Hit it not too early but not too late.
  • If the Risky Deal screen shows up, you can choose to take the deal, evaluate (high-score result screen), or run one more time if you got the Replay item.

Concept Work:

  1. My game dev process almost always starts with some idea sketches. Then I elaborate on the bits of ideas that I feel good about then draw some game screens to use them as a guide.
  2. Since I run a business with my business partner, I thought of "scaling the business" as soon as I saw the theme announcement. That's why I thought of the Japanese salary-man character first.
  3. Then, piling on the Japanese salary-man concept, I thought of "Manekineko (A cat statue that is believed to bring more business and money)" and thus, Moneykee was born.
  4. I knew that I wanted to make a super simple kill-time game so I added more idea saround the salary-man and Moneykee and by that time, I had a vague idea what the game would look like.
